The DLS 414E/415E allows full duplex signal transmission. It simulates all the characteristics (attenuation, group delay and characteristics impedance) of the European PE 0.4/0.5 mm straight loop that covers the North American ADSL2++ frequency spectrum. The attenuation (insertion loss), impedance and group delay is identical for both downstream and upstream signals. Using this test set-up enables you to be certain that the device under test (DUT) will pass ITU-T certification testing. The DLS 414E/415E and DLS 5200R system offer a comprehensive and accurate test bed for ADSL2++ testing.
The DLS 414E/415E ADSL2++ Wireline Simulators reproduce the AC and DC characteristics of twisted pair copper telephony cable using passive circuitry (R, L & C), which means that attenuation, complex impedance and velocity (propagation delay) of the wireline is properly simulated. Both the DLS 414E and the DLS 415E chassis have the same physical front and rear panel. The only visual difference is the identifying sticker in the bottom right-hand corner of the front panel. Each model is a single chassis which provides two ports for external noise injection via the DLS 5200R Reach Noise Generation System for ADSL2++. The system offers an automatic relay refresh feature.
